The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is charged with overseeing the institution's animal program, facilities, and procedures. All laboratory research, field study, teaching and testing involving live vertebrate animals must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) prior to initiation of the activities. The average time to review and approve Animal Protocol Statements is two to three weeks. When additional information is required by the committee, the approval process could take an average of six to eight weeks. Please plan accordingly and submit applications as early as possible.
