				Dr. Karl Hasenstein, Chair Phone: (337) 482-6750 Email: khh@louisiana.edu The Radiation Safety Committee has the responsibility to oversee the University programs utilizing radioactive materials or radiation sources. They assure that all activities are carried out in accord with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Environmental Regulatory Code Title 33, Part XV: Radiation Protection. The committee reviews protocols involving radioactive materials or the production of radiation. It is responsible for the inspection of laboratories used in such research and the Radiation Safety Officer must approve purchases of radioactive materials.
