The Office of Research and Sponsored Program (ORSP) offers this Guide
to Sponsored Research Management for Principal Investigators to give
you as a UL Lafayette Principal Investigator (PI) helpful information about
managing externally funded grants and projects. ORSP is always available
to answer your specific questions, address your specific needs and concerns,
and further clarify university policies and procedures regarding sponsored
projects.
This guide frequently makes reference to “research” or “researcher.” We
understand that not all funded projects involve research, although most
do. If you are the PI of a non-research project, please interpret these
terms in a broader, more generic sense when appropriate. Also, please interpret
the term, “grants” to apply to contracts, letters, and other agreements.
