UL Lafayette Research Community:

We are pleased to formally introduce two new staff persons in the office. Cathe Charlier is replacing Heather Escott who left to work with the LUS fiber optics project and Rebecca Holdorf who was hired to fill a new position created to handle the additional workload brought about by the rapidly increasing outside funding success of the university's PIs. Both individuals come highly recommended and can be reached through the general office number (2-5811). A brief introduction follows.
Sincerely,

Carl Frantz, Director
Office of Research and Sponsored Programs

Cathe Charlier has joined the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs as a Compliance Administrator. As such, Ms. Charlier will be responsible for tracking project deliverables, auditing project and process compliance to standards, monitoring subcontractor compliance and developing program policies and procedures. In addition she will serve as the post award administrator for the ULS Serves grants. Her previous experience as a software quality engineer and corporate instructor for Texas Instruments, Inc. provides a solid background for fulfilling her duties in our office. Cathe is proud to return to the alma mater from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science.

Rebecca Holdorf has joined the Office as a Post-Award Administrator. Rebecca will be working with Donna Fontenot in reviewing and processing contractual agreements, reviewing and facilitating contract changes including those in budget/personnel, and assisting in other post-award related issues. Rebecca came to Louisiana from Florida State University where she recently earned her Master's in Integrated Marketing and Management Communication. She is excited about the opportunity to experience the "administrative" side of research after having the chance to present her own marketing research at an international conference.
