NEW DATABASES SUPPORT RESEARCH
Dupré Library now offers UL Lafayette researchers the services of
Community of Science (COS), a leading global resource for research across
all disciplines. Researchers can now find funding, identify collaborators,
and promote their research with just a few clicks. COS Funding Opportunities
describes available grants, fellowships, prizes, and other types of funding.
COS Scholar Universe provides authoritative information about scholars and
organizations around the world, together with verified affiliation and publication
information. COS PapersInvited offers detailed information about calls for
papers for forthcoming conferences and special issues of scholarly journals.
To get started, go to the library’s Reference Center Homepage at http://library.louisiana.edu/Ref/Databases/,
and use the drop down menu beside Databases by Name. Links to the new Community
of Science resources can also be found at on the homepage of the Office
of Research and Sponsored Program at http://orsp.louisiana.edu/.
Users may access other features of COS on and off campus by using an on-campus
computer to register at http://registration.cos.com/cgi-bin/register.
They will then be able to log in at http://www.cos.com/
to use COS Workbench to save searches, create alerts, collaborate with other
researchers, and edit their COS Expertise Profiles.
